Temperament

Brave and confident, energetic when required but she is calms down easily, curious and dexterous. Determined and self confident puppy. She tends to be ignorant towards strangers, but at times also gets excited of new friends. She has great apetite and she is ready to show her dramatic cry if she does not accomplish what she wishes.

Training

With right motivation she is easily trained and she thinks up fast what she is required to do. She is mainly trained with a clicker and by positive training. Now with four months she manages the basic commands, but at times has difficulties recognizing the commands from each other.

Said by others:

Because of Iita’s young age and problematic bite we haven’t participated into official dog shows. Though we have participated Match Shows to gather experience with other dogs and crowds. On 14th of August we participoated the Club Show of Finnish Sighthound Club, which also had a “pet group” for the dogs which do not fulfill the breed standards. Mr. Unto Timonen judged the ridgebacks. Unfortunately there were no other puppies participating, but even though Iita was 1. HP  BOB-puppy with the following statements (freely translated):

Strong boned female puppy. Nicely featured head, beatiful expression, lightish lower jaw. Good neck. Excellently angulated front. Good body shape. Good upperline and ridge. Good width of tigh. Strongly angulated hamstring. Moves very well for her age.

 

We also participated into extra class of the best moves, with 7 some adult dogs. Parently the judge liked Iita, because she ended up winning the big white rosette.
